Introducing Komiža

On the west coast, at the foot of Hum mountain, Komiža is a captivating small town on a bay, with sand and pebble beaches at the eastern end. Komiža has die-hard fans among Croats, who swear by its somewhat bohemian, rough-around-the-edges ambience.

Narrow back streets lined with tawny 17th- and 18th-century townhouses twist uphill from the port, which has been used by fishers since at least the 12th century.
