Best Beaches Around Montego Bay

Montego Bay, or MoBay as the “cool kids” call it, is a fantastic Caribbean destination, with plenty to do to make your getaway memorable. However, if you are like most of its visitors, you are hitting sunny Jamaica to sprawl across its lovely beaches.

With so many options for getting that golden tan, my guide is here to help you find the perfect beach for your individual lifestyle. Just don’t forget your sunblock!

Best Beaches Around Montego Bay

Doctor’s Cave Beach is the most famous stretch of sand in MoBay, and it is easy to see why! Located right on the Hip Strip, it is simple to access and right in the middle of the action. While it can be a bit touristy, it is still a wonderful beach, offering food, chair and umbrella rentals, snorkeling, and showers. It is a private beach, so there is a nominal fee, but it is worth it!

Aquasol Beach Park is an excellent beach for families! It offers plenty of water sports, including trampolines and water walls for the kids to enjoy. For those wanting to relax, rentals for chairs and umbrellas are also available; and don’t fret about your valuables, because there are lockers for your convenience.

Walter Fletcher Beach is adjacent to Aquasol Water Park, and the names of these two places are commonly interchanged. Here, a beautiful barrier of coconut trees provides a fantastic shield of privacy from the busy road.

Gloucester Avenue, also known as the “Hip Strip,” is home to many sandy stretches, but is perhaps best known among locals as the place to find Dead End Beach. This beach hasn’t caught on as much with the tourists yet, so expect a bit more tranquility.
